Visitors

If you are considering visiting or are new to our church we want to try as much as possible to help you feel at home. We know visiting a new church can be anything from easy to frustrating. That’s why it is our goal to help you before you even step foot on campus.

Below are several things you might want to know about St. Simons Community Church in a question and answer format. Scattered throughout are links to other areas of the site with more detail on the linked text. If you have further questions, please contact us. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30-5:00 except during holidays and the week after Christmas.

Where are you located?

We are located on St. Simons Island, GA in Glynn County right off the coast of Brunswick and accessible by way of the FJ Torras Causeway.

Our address is:
2700 Frederica Road
St. Simons Island, GA 31522

If you’re coming from Brunswick, once you get on the island turn left onto Sea Island Causeway. Follow it until your first traffic light at the intersection with Frederica Road. Turn right onto Frederica Road and go about a quarter mile and look for us on your left side.

If you’re on St. Simons already, make your way to Frederica Road and look for us between Demere Road and Sea Island Causeway. We are across the street from Wymberly subdivision.

You can get customized directions just for you from Google Maps on our Directions page.

Also, we have a campus map online to help you get to where you are going.

Can you tell me more about the church?

We’d love to!

St. Simons Community Church began with a group of committed families in 1996 and has grown into a thriving church of over 1300 members and attendees. Our goal is to create an environment that produces godly character in the lives of men, women, youth, and children. We seek to provide practical and biblical encouragement for everyday life here on St. Simons Island and the greater Brunswick area.

Here are links with more explanation about: who we are, what we believe, and how we do ministry.

What about programs for kids and students?

We have age-specific programs for all ages of youth and children.

What are your services like?

A typical service on Sunday mornings consists of a time of praise and worship music, some announcements, maybe a video, and a teaching time usually by our pastor, David Yarborough. More information can be found on our Service Info page.

Music
Our praise and worship time is a blend of mostly contemporary with occasional hymns. Typical songs we play are by artists such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Brian and Jen Johnson, Tim Hughes, and Hillsong. Our “style” fits in with these artists as well.

Video
We use video when appropriate and fitting to the message. They include testimonies, sketches, and teaching-helps. See some here on our video page.

Teaching
Our teaching is in series format, meaning we group several unique sermons together to present an overall topic. You can view our current series here.

We publish our sermons online and on CD. Listen, download, or podcast here. CD’s can be purchased in the church office during the week or in the Atrium Resource Center on Sunday Mornings.
