Thanks for visiting St. Simons Community Church. We have always encouraged people to “come as you are” – whatever your age, stage, or place in life. You can feel free to dress up or dress down. You can sing out loud or worship quietly. We welcome you if your heart is full, your heart is broken, or if you simply have lost heart in life. We are His people, His family, and we pray you feel at home among us. On any given Sunday we hope that you come with us into the Presence of Jesus to meet with Him and hear from God’s Word. ~SSCC Pastor, Rev. David Yarborough

We meet at 2700 Frederica Road on St. Simons Island. Our worship Services are on Sundays at 9 & 11am and are also available online at sscclive.com and in our app available on iOS, Google Play, and AppleTV.

Commonly Asked Questions

What are services like at SSCC?

A typical service on Sunday mornings consists of a time of praise and worship music, some announcements, maybe a video, and a teaching time. Teaching is usually by our pastor, David Yarborough, but we also share the platform with our other pastors and occasionally with guest communicators.

  • Our praise and worship time is a blend of mostly contemporary with occasional hymns. Typical songs we play are by artists such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Brian and Jen Johnson, Tim Hughes, and Hillsong. Our style fits in with these artists as well.
  • We use video when appropriate and fitting to the message. Videos include testimonies, sketches, and teaching-illustrations.
  • Our teaching is in series format, meaning we group several unique sermons together to present an overall topic.

Can I see or listen to any of your past sermons?

We have sermon audio here on our website, and live and archived videos of our services can be found on sscclive.com

What do you have for my children?

We have age appropriate environments and ministries for birth through high school. We have Tiny Town for Birth–Kindergarten during 9 & 11am services. We have Kidjam for 1st–4th grades, Club 56 for 5th & 6th grades, and HarborSide for special needs during the 11am service. Our 7th–12th grades meet on Sunday evenings at 5:30. On a Sunday morning, visit the information counter in the Atrium or ask a staff member for more information. While online, check out the ministries page of our website.

Is there somewhere I can nurse my child in private?

We have a nursing mothers room in Tiny Town with live video from the service so you don’t have to miss anything. There are also TVs in our hallway with the same live video feed if you need to step out with a fussy child.

Do you have anything for people with special needs?

Yes, Harbor Side is our ministry to families with special needs. It meets during the 11am service on Sundays.

Can I get prayed for?

Yes! Prayer Partners are available after every service. Come to the front of the sanctuary, to the left of the stage.
We also have an extended time of prayer in the sanctuary on the first Monday night of each month at 7pm.

Do you serve communion?

Yes, typically once a month in our main services. We also serve it as a part of special services and when the message of the morning lends itself towards Communion.

Do you take up an offering?

Not during our regular services. We don’t want to put undo pressure on our guests. The worship service is a gift to them. There is an opportunity to present your tithes & offerings though, you can place offerings in the boxes located outside all sanctuary entrances.
