Thanks for visiting St. Simons Community Church. We have always encouraged people to “come as you are” – whatever your age, stage, or place in life. You can feel free to dress up or dress down. You can sing out loud or worship quietly. We welcome you if your heart is full, your heart is broken, or if you simply have lost heart in life. We are His people, His family, and we pray you feel at home among us. On any given Sunday we hope that you come with us into the Presence of Jesus to meet with Him and hear from God’s Word. ~SSCC Pastor, Rev. David Yarborough
Look for our staff or any one of our Host Team volunteers if you need any help on a Sunday morning, we’re the people wearing nametags. Hopefully we stand out! Most of what you might need is in our Atrium, located to the right of our sanctuary if you are facing the stage. Our Visitors & Info Counter is in the Atrium as well and many other things. In the Atrium you will find:
A typical service on Sunday mornings consists of a time of praise and worship music, some announcements, maybe a video, and a teaching time. Teaching is usually by our pastor, David Yarborough, but we also share the platform with our other pastors and occasionally with guest communicators.
We have age appropriate environments and ministries for birth through high school. We have Tiny Town for Birth–Kindergarten during 9 & 11am services. We have Kidjam for 1st–4th grades, Club 56 for 5th & 6th grades, and HarborSide for special needs during the 11am service. Our 7th–12th grades meet on Sunday evenings at 5:30. On a Sunday morning, visit the information counter in the Atrium or ask a staff member for more information. While online, check out the ministries page of our website.
We have a nursing mothers room in Tiny Town with live video from the service so you don’t have to miss anything. There are also TVs in our hallway with the same live video feed if you need to step out with a fussy child.
Yes, Harbor Side is our ministry to families with special needs. It meets during the 11am service on Sundays.
Yes! Prayer Partners are available after every service. Come to the front of the sanctuary, to the left of the stage.
We also have an extended time of prayer in the sanctuary on the first Monday night of each month at 7pm.
Yes, typically once a month in our main services. We also serve it as a part of special services and when the message of the morning lends itself towards Communion.
Not during our regular services. We don’t want to put undo pressure on our guests. The worship service is a gift to them. There is an opportunity to present your tithes & offerings though, you can place offerings in the boxes located outside all sanctuary entrances.
