As part of SSCC, you help suppport the following ministries and organizations:
Local
- CareNet Pregnancy Center
- Function: Provides free pregnancy test and peer counselors for women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy situation. Women also receive training through video studies on childbirth, pregnancy, parenting skills, and Bible studies. These women can “earn” points to help them to obtain items that will be needed such as cribs, playpens, baby clothes, formula, diapers, and maternity clothes as well. There is also a support group for women who chose to abort their unborn babies to help them through the recovery process.
- Support: Volunteers are needed to counsel peers, work in reception, organize baby items, and to assist with special mailings, fund raisers, and Father Daughter Purity Ball. Donations of Diapers, formula, baby food, wipes, breast pumps, diaper bags, cribs, high chairs, new car seats are always welcome.

- Living Well Ministries
- Function: Providing recovery ministries, wellness ministries, servant leadership training.

- Sparrow’s Nest/Faithworks
- Function: A local program which assists the needy in Glynn County area providing financial assistance to local families to help with power bills, rent, medical expenses, food, transportation, and spiritual needs.
- Support: Currently seeking funds to replace roof of an elderly woman here in Brunswick, total funding needed $5000 of which $3000 has been raised. Volunteers are needed to provide transportation for a 29 year old female who is disabled and is in need of a job. Transportation for a chronically ill female as well as advocacy and food for her dog. A diabetic woman needs encouragement and mentoring to enable her to stay healthy. Uninsured woman needs hernia surgery, butter pecan boost and non-greasy foods. Elderly couple needs transportation to doctor appointments and grocery store. Elderly woman needs transportation to doctor appointments. Middle aged man in St. Mary’s nursing home needs clothes, size 31/31 pants, shirt and jacket large, and shoes size 11. Couple on St. Simons have experienced loss of a job and are in poor health.. looking for a car….55 year old man who has been in Hospice since November needs friendly visits…53 paraplegic man needs email friends… A very large man who is moving from near Glynn Academy to public housing is afraid of being lonely he just wants someone to visit. Assistants to the Chaplain at Brunswick Campus to visit new patients to let them know of the availability of chaplain or to offer assistance in contacting their own clergy or family, involves about 3 hours per week. Many others have need for transportation to doctor’s appointments. These needs can be met once or on an on going basis. Other needs for Faithworks include financial donations, donations of paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, adult incontinent products, dog food, cat food, help with cleaning and stock their food bank, and buying food.

- Fellowship of Christian Atheletes
- Function: Since 1954 FCA has challenged coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, and junior high levels to use athletics to impact the world for Christ. Dave Gittings is the local FCA missionary serving Glynn County and surrounding area.

- Manna House
- Function: This local mission serves a noon time meal 6-days a week to the needy along with the love of Jesus Christ. It is located at 1408 G Street in Brunswick. Volunteer teams from local organizations and churches staff the kitchen and serve food one day a month.
- Support: You may serve on the second Wednesday of each month with the SSCC team. You may choose to work one of two shifts: 9:00-11:30am or 11:30am-1:30pm.

- Function: Provides emergency medical supplies around the world, along with the medications, vitamins and first aid supplies are also available for missionaries to take on short term trips as well as long as they meet the criteria.
- Support: 35 Volunteers are needed each week to pack medical supplies as well as volunteers to assist with office work, landscaping projects, preparing the supplies for packing, and preparing the cardboard boxes.

- Morning Star Youth Estate
- Function: Provides a home for 60 children ranging in age from 6-16. These children have either been removed from the home or from foster homes and are developmentally delayed, average IQ 40-60. Only one third of these beloved children have any family to care for them. Average stay is 18-24 months and then they are “reintroduced” back into the foster care system or placed back with family members.
- Support: Their greatest need is to be loved. There are ongoing needs for laundry detergent (powder form only), body gel soap, liquid hand soap, school supplies (paper, art supplies, etc.), clothing, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Volunteers are needed for construction projects, painting, landscaping, cutting and removal of trees/branches. The kids told us they enjoy cookouts, playing dodge ball, volleyball, basketball, performing their own “American Idol”, carnival activities, and having other groups come and perform. Chapel is on Friday and they would love to have help with music. Groups have also provided gifts for the kids for Christmas, Easter baskets, Valentine Day treats, and cards at other holidays.

- Habitat for Humanity
- Function: Builds and finances homes for those who might not otherwise be able to own a home.
- Support: Volunteers are needed to build homes, work in their thrift store, provide hospitality, and to assist with family selection.

National
- God’s Katrina Kitchen - Pass Christian, MS
- Function: God’s Katrina Kitchen is a hurricane relief operation serving hot meals to local residents and relief volunteers in Pass Christian Mississippi. They also operate a distribution center for donated goods for hurricane victims rebuilding after Katrina.
