Missions plays a vital role in the “Reach Out” portion of SSCC’s Vision. The goal of SSCC missions is to invest our people and resources (send and spend) in missions work locally, nationally, and internationally to help people discover God’s purpose for their lives as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Our missions strategy involves creating strategic partnerships with a few individuals and organizations that:
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrate relevance and vision.
- Meet needs that are dear to the heart of God (evangelism, discipleship, ministry of mercy to the poor, etc.)
- Demonstrate openness and desire to welcome our involvement and partnership with them in ministry.
As we seek to invest our resources (at least 10% of our annual budget) and people in missions, we want to seek always to further the kingdom of God. We must also keep in mind the balance of spiritual needs and social/physical needs. We cannot put so much emphasis on the eternal needs of people that we neglect and overlook their immediate temporal needs for food, clothing, shelter and medical attention. May God grant us wisdom to meet the needs He is calling us to meet!
